Actually - the more I think about it, could you get the skiis involved as the arms of this thing? Design a device that attaches to the tips or tails of your skiis to a wheel like this and something on the ends to make carrying easier:

Totally reminds me of an a-framer hiking up HoJos.


I believe I've seen quite a few Tele-Skis with holes in the tips for just this kind of maneuver.
