Get 'em now or not at all. I just went on line and am in the back of the second balcony. Warning: they tack on a "convenience" charge of $7.25 PER TICKET, and a processing fee of $3.85. So bogus, because the costs for on line transactions are nothing. But since they'll be sold out by tonight...

Saw it last night. 1st half had some good stuff in it, and some not so great segments.

2nd half was balls to the wall.

Well, I have revised my decision to skip future WME movies, I'll go if the timing is right.

I finally realized what my objection is...

WME is to film what Powder Mag is to slicks...designed for Attention Deficit Disorder viewing. With a couple of exceptions, the runs are incomplete segments designed to show some flashy moves.

I really did like the focus on pow-pow and the reduced focus on inbounds skiing and riding. Johnny's story of respect between great athletes was very cool. Just as cool was the segment how the Fish was proud of her younger shredd sisters. A skiers news magazine...as it were. The segment on Gerry Lopez, Surfer and Boarder was worth the price of admission...the flow of grace in that man is truly insiring. The magazine piece on Lopez is just as good...don't forget to read that

Doing nothin is sometime a real cool hand...

What I really did not like was to total absence of tele-rippers this year. The cutting edge stuff is not the province of Alpiners and Boarders alone.

If memory serves, none last year either:confused: I would defer to the EMS et.al. folks' knowledge, but if telemark gear sales are still expanding as opposed to the alpine flatline, you'd think that WME would show a little drop knee poahn for us too, considering the commersh sponsors in the local venues for the movie. Shows up here 25th-26th. Got the tickets so I'll go for the snow, but disappointing to know beforehand that we got slighted again.:rolleyes:Oh well. ps. thanks for the review. Sounds like there's some redemption in it.

I felt the same way. I said to BladeGuy: They had a segment on mountain biking in the off season, but not a single telemarker (much less a jugglemarker)! In fact, kind of the reverse - they had a sign shown prominently at one event filmed that no telemark skiers were allowed (to be fair, I believe it said no borders either).

They did show folks getting up backcountry mountains under their own steam, and there were definitely cool segments worth watching. I enjoyed Iceland.

They've had a good bit of tele in recent years. The iceland segment was great. I've been disappointed with WME movies the past couple of years, but I thought this one was the best of recent efforts. I just read that WME is no longer even in the family. Kurt had taken over from Warren a few years back and has since sold out to Time, Inc. This year's was pretty good all things considered.
