I'll be heading up to Tuck's on April 21st. Haven't been this year yet and in past years the snow is getting thin by now. I'd like to hear from anyone who's been up Easter weekend and if they wore snow shoes crampons or just boots. I want to be prepared but don't want to schlep both snowshoes and crampons up. See you there. Look for team Red Bull.

i was there sunday the 15th. i had 4-point crampons for the hike up to hojo's (the rest of the day i spent in ski boots). quite a few people had the full-blown type crampons with many spikes. i saw one or two people carrying snowshoes, but not wearing them, arent those only any use in powder?

With all the traffic on the Tuckerman Ravine trail from April onward its hardly worthwhile bringing snowshoes... unless of course you are going to go off trail exploring or whatever.
Hiking boots only are fine. Crampons are a bonus but not necessary.
