Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could give me any info on skiing the ravine in mid-late May this year.
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Great time to go! Check out the photos taken May 20th last year ... http://timefortuckerman.com/photos2000-05-20.html . My estimate is that we have a 3 week lead on last year due to the large amount of snow this year and comparisons of this/last years photos.
Mid May will probably be mainly snow on the Tuckerman Ravine trail. You 'might' still be able to ski down the Sherburne trail at least part way... my guess anyways.
Anyways its an excellent time to go...

if you ski part of the way down sherburne, then it becomes unskiable, how is the rest of the hike? is it easier or harder than the tuckerman trail?

The Sherburne trail runs parallel to the Tuckerman Ravine trail... probably av about 50ft away. They are connecting trails so no problem to get back on the Tuckerman Ravine trail when you run out of snow.
