Brad Ray Retiering!

I met Brad Ray for the first time last weekend (5/4), and we were talking about his dog Tuckerman. He mentioned he only had 23 days left to work. We asked why and he said that the dog was retiering, we asked why and he said becuase his owner was retiering! Brad is Tuckerman's owner.

So a large piece of what is Tuckerman will be gone next year.

I wish I had known when I met him, but I found out the next day that my father-in-law used to work with Brad a lot. DOH!

If you hike into the bowl on a busy saturday, right when you leave the trees, or maybe right by the first-aide cahce there, Brad will probably be standing there. And if you ask him where to ski he'll tell you about the dangers specific to that day. He's usually good for a highly accurate weather report too. But unless you work for the forest service, don't bother trying to get a ride up in the snow-cat!
