I’m new to Tuckerman’s and T4T, but I’ve enjoyed reading the TR’s here so I wanted to contribute…
Today was beautiful, blue skies and non-threatening white puffy clouds. I had originally planned to head up yesterday, but after checking the forecast I decided to switch things at work and come up today. It was a good decision!
Temps were pleasant with a hint of chill, nothing like the heat wave at the beginning of the month. The sun has been working, as this is where I put my skins on heading up on Good Friday. Not today!

Snow did appear further up, dirty at first and then pretty clean approaching the bowl. I didn’t bother to skin up, but I might as well have since I had them with me.

Still plenty to ski, but lines are disappearing…

Last time here I did Right Gully, so today I headed up Lobster Claw. Once out of the bowl, I had thoughts of summiting. I skinned up the snow fields a bit (since I had them with me) and decided I was high enough. As I mentioned, I’m new here and I was alone, so I didn’t want to push it even on a Bluebird day. The Snowfield was pleasant with a thin veneer of breakable crust.

Now for the real skiing – dropping into the bowl via Lobster Claw. My pulse still races a bit just thinking about those first couple turns, when all you can see is the Edge and the bowl floor way down there… and this is one of the easy runs!

Back safely in the bowl it was time to spectate and enjoy a Tuckerman’s 6288 Stout. I had planned to drink it at the summit, but it still tasted great down here.

Then it was time to head out. Some boot skiing down the ravine trail brought me quickly back to Hojo’s. The Sherburne started out fine, alternating fast hardpack with slushy bumps depending where the sun was peeking through.

All good things must come to and end, and the skiing was no exception. I can’t wait to get back up here!
