After ridin sluice 4 of the past 15 days it was time for a change of scenery..
Decided to do a remix of my b-day tour, only this time starting from the north side of the closed rd, this is 6-7 miles of pure uphill madness (hardest workout of the day)
The snowpack had diminished in the last 20 days, leaving the main patch with prob. 80 feet of continous vert.
Oh well did 12 laps @ 7 turns per. and the snow was deluxe smooth spray away corn, some of the best I've had all year!!
Not sure if I'll grab another day this season..
*warning if you're looking for an easy hike with more vert. go to tux!! If you want even easier turns drive up to the patch above HR!! If you want a gruelling long mix tour adventure, then go here, but come prepared, this is true wilderness..;)

nice work there. People pay good money to turn pedals on stationary bikes and make ellipticals whirr around without any of the rewards of a trip like that. So, in that sense, you really kind of were slacking, as are all of us any time we go out in the mountains, even in the thickest of thrashes.

Those blowdowns aren't kidding around! "finally rocks" - nice touch :)

Just wondering, those distance shots, were they patch envy, or letting it go?

on my b-day tour tr, I didn't take any pix of the blowdowns (cam in my pack for that part) made sure this time to capture the destruction!!

those distant shots, were once the talk of the town.. now they def. have patch envy!!

Wow!
Among other things, that has to be:
-- the most anyone has skied/ridden on the East Coast this month
-- the biggest sufferfest for any ski day this month on the East Coast
-- the most blowdowns ever encountered on the Ridge Caps trail
-- the least amount of snow in recent memory on June 15 in Great Gulf

well done NATRON!

way to overcome the likely urge to hit the otto.

so that road is still closed eh? why? is there still snow on it?! or is it just devestated by blowdowns still?

sad to see the snow coming to a close so fast this year. felt like it would last forever last year, but this year all our snow was on the west (hot) side.

real stoked for you mang. hopefully we can shred together next season. you still around the EC? i'm all in with lots of unchecked boxes... time for climb now though

Turns most definitely earned!

Sorry to see that road still closed and so many blowdowns on Caps Ridge... looks like it's Sluice again for me this weekend :)

fixed it for ya

FYI i'm a lamoille county vt snob until a chute on MTW is ready to roll... although i'd make a maine drive if it was the only place for sure.

don't blame ya, I'd have that same mentality if i were u!!
I rock Maine and prezis just for the shorter drive aspect, but if VT gets it first I'll make the trip!!:)
