After my first trip to Tuckerman’s on May 17th, I managed to convince my buddy from grad school, Jeremy, to drive out for a trip up on the 31st of May.
Woke up at ~5:30 AM Saturday. Jeremy took his dog for out for a walk, and we were underway! A few stops were necessary for food and for the dog, and we were on the trail by 10 AM.
The weather was sunny and pretty warm – the rain was holding off. And as we rounded the corner, we were rewarded with the following view:

And another, a little closer with Jeremy posing with his free heels and free mind:

About 20 people were gathered on the lunch rocks, and a few brave souls were headed up the left hand side of the ravine. Note the crevasse about ½ way up.

The melting was resulting in impressive waterfalls, but there was more than enough snow left for our purpose.

Arthur the Wonder Dog was a little excited about the other skiers, so he accompanied us up the slope and sat patiently while we got geared up at the top. (Left to right: Me, Jeremy, and Arthur)

I made the first run down, and turned around to watch Arthur and Jeremy start down. Once Arthur figured it out, he headed down the slope, and leapt clear across the crevasse (see above), making a far more graceful descent than Jeremy, earning a round of applause from the crowd!
Jeremy and Arthur made one more run, and I managed two more uneventful runs down, losing my hat half way down on one, but managing to catch it on the fly near the bottom.
A few beers later  , and we were headed down the slope, planning the trip next April so as to make it all the way to the top…

The rain started on the way down with a light drizzle, followed by a deluge as we got nearer to Boston. :raining:
Can't wait for next time!
