Photos can now be uploaded and organized in your own albums on T4T from the Gallery (http://timefortuckerman.com/photopost/index.php) feature.
Once loaded into one of your albums, you can then include your photo in your trip report. You'll notice that when you view any of your photos in your albums that there is a UBBCode field listed under the photo details which will contain the code you need to insert in your trip report posting.
Let me know if you get stuck...

Works like a charm - you have done it again, SkiCDave.

Please use the Album Admin to create albums! Otherwise you'll have just one big directory of disorganized photos.
As an example check out the start of My Albums (http://timefortuckerman.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2) . I'll have one album for each 'event' so to speak. The 'search photo' can be use later if you want to search for a specific shot or location. Off course you need to attach the appropriate keywords to you photo also so other members and visitors can find them by ekyword. You'll notice that there are links to specific photos in the Member Photo Galleries at the bottom of the Main Board Page (http://timefortuckerman.com/forums/index.php) which bring up photos for main keywords including:
For correct keyword usage (keywords specific to those photos of Tuckerman Ravine and area, visit THIS LINK (http://timefortuckerman.com/forums/announcement.php?f=6) .
For other types of photos of other destinations I suggest the name of the ski area, ie killington, wildcat, attitash, sunday river etc or if its backcountry, the name of the backcountry area... thunderbolt, mooilauke, mt everest etc

I was so proud of myself for getting my pics uploaded. :)
...until you mentioned the album stuff. So, I created albums for the various trips. But, how do I now get the pics into the albums?

No problemo Mumster...
Go to the gallery, click on the 'Album Admin' link on the brown nav bar. Then click on 'Add Album' to give it a name. You can choose to make an album private if you like (PLEASE NO NUDIES!!! :D ). Private albums don't show to anyone else but you... it automatically assigns a password to private albums. There is a minor glitch in this. No need to go into this unless anyone plans on using private albums... let me know.
So now that you have created at least one Album, lets say 'Skiing the Moon Jan 2004, you now go into your gallery (click my Gallery), click on the first photo, click on the 'Edit Photo' link below the thumbnails and then under 'Change category' choose the appropriate album 'Skiing the Moon Jan 2004'. Voila! You are on a distinquished road of organization.
Good luck and keep that :camera: clicking!

Phew, thanks Dave. Nothing worse than being swallowed up in a sea of chaos.

Well, SKIDAVE, this is not working for me. I have pictures in My Gallery and I created an album and put the Mittersill map in it, but I find no UBBCode and no "Edit Photo" option. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a way to upload an entire folder of pictures to my album at once instead of individually typing in each photos whole location?
sorry - I am not so computer savvy and have a lot of pics that folks might like to see!
Welcome back! There is a way to do this - you need to ftp to timefortuckerman.com and log in to upload. I dunno if that's the right address - SkiCDave is gonna have to field this one, and I think he's camping this week.

Hey Dave just experimenting with the picture upload function.
I have some photos from my digi camera which are over 2MB and won't upload. The pictures are just over 2MB. Is there a way to compress the files/pictures, so they I can upload them successfully?

Dave, thanks I got my pictures in folders and posted my first TR with photos!
What I don't know how to do is to add a photo to my screen name that appears under "Members On-Line", is that somewhere in the CP?

cfrac,
Just point me to a decent photo of your mug and I'll edit/resize it into a 'head shot' for the 'members online' section.

Dave - OK, you know I am nowhere near computer savvy. So, hear goes. I'm trying to change my avatar and profile pics. I understand that they need to be a certain size - 600x600 for the profile? Well, I have no idea how to "downsize" these pics to fit, when I browse through "My pictures" on my computer. Please help me!!

KristaIf your pix aren't JPEG pr JPG files save a copy as one of those formats...they'll be smaller.
If they are, and you want to crop the picture, open one with "Paint", look in Program Files\Accessories from the "Start" button. Click on the select tool from the toolbox (uppermost right hand tool in the toolbox usually) select the portion of the picture you want, choose Copy from the Edit Menu. Then click New on the File Menu (choose No changes if prompted to save).
Now click paste on the Edit Menu and your photo section will appear. There may be an over large border to the right and below the picture. That can be moved to the edge of the picture without effect on the picture.
The choose Save As from the file menu. At the lower left of the save window there will be a file type selection...choose JPG and then save the file to a location of your prefference.
Then upload it from that location and you are done...
whew...get a coffee after all that!
Dave or M@ will prolly fix up the images from there.

KM, do you have a photo you want to use in your photophosts, here on T4T? If so let me know which one and I'll size/attach to your profile. Easier than giving a photoshop/whatever tutorial ;)

Well Dave, I organized my photos into a gallery Album, but now I am having trouble attaching them as photos into a new thread/post I would like to create as our trip report. How do I do that? There must be an easier way than control_c/control_v of the UBBCode http link. Please help. Thanks.

That's how you do it. But that does bring up a good idea for a feature: When you're viewing an album there could be "Compile Album as Post" link, maybe it doesn't create a new post, but it could create a bunch of text which is all the UBB code for each picture in the album. That shouldn't be too hard.
Even better would be to create a new post in the TR section with the name of the album as the title... and drop you into edit mode. Sounds like work though.
