two questions...this year im going to do tucks a couple of weeks earlier than i usually do. so...will i need crampons for the hike up to the bowl? and, is the bowl still skiable off the lip, or have too many crevasses opened up? the pics from april 21st look rad, but couple of weeks can really change that place.
thanks for any help,
chris

Don't be discouraged. The forecast can easily change during the week. I've had several trips that didn't look so promising till the day before.

I've been watching the forcasts for like 2 weeks now, and the change almost every day.
Kind of exciting.

powder1111 - Skiing is still great. I'm guessing next weekend will be the last one where "everyone" is willing to go over the headwall - it is starting to thin out, but sitll much snow. The Waterfall is about 30-40 feet high. Left Gully (very firm), Chute/Hourglass, Right Gully, Lobster Claw all great (particularly Lobster Claw, aka Wrong Right Gully). Upper snowfields may make it a week or so longer. Connection down to HoJo's - stay LEFT and watch for open water. Sherburne is sketchy nearing Crystal Cascade. Walk from the bend above CC would be recommended (I should follow my own advice). Have a great trip! - SherpaKroto
