RR, that looks a lot less scary than the pictures I was imagining! Those cartoons take the edge off 60 degree ice slopes with gaping glide cracks beneath. Good work.

A good trick for getting anyone to relax amidst your mountaineering exploits might be just to take them. For the longest time, my family thought I was crazy. Then they tried it, and were amazed at the safety precautions that everyone (mostly) takes unconsciously. Ice climbing is frightening. Just don't tell them that you then clip your skis on and go down it. Have fun.
