Just noticed this photo I took April 20, 2003. Guy in the middle looked familiar... could it be Rider.Steve used to be a skier? Or simply.. is this him?

Hmmm....interesting.

IMO the guy in the bottom foto is what is known in snowboard circles as a "poser". If you look closely, you can see that this image is a Photoshop fabrication based on a photo taken while "Steve" was returning to the take-out counter to supersize his fries.

As for bald guy in upper photo I don't think he's Rider.Steve either. Why would anybody proclaim himself a snowboarder if he had the talent to ski Tux?

I hope this clears things up.

Just Another Bald Guy

Whoa, major rep for Steve for this honest admission!

We should install the FBI face-scanning software on the TMC cams... the top guy's face is more squat and has a wider neck.

Most definitely a troll! Reminds me of one of my (bald) hockey buddies, except he's taller. They grow bigger at Tux!

mmm....fresh troll

LOL

"Why would anybody proclaim himself a snowboarder if he had the talent to ski Tux?"

I'm through proclaiming myself a snowboarder....
I'm an Alpine Descent Junky... I intend on Telemarking Tucks next year.... Maybe...
I've already skied it a bunch of times... I will break down the barriers that separate our disciplines...

The only thing I won't do is snowblade..

Oh, Oh, I see another Troll.

When I did cross-country I was an ascent junky, but I *hated* the downhill. I'm now a nascent descent junky. Someday I'll be a decent descent junky. For now it's on one plank or my sorry butt.

I'm just trying to figure out whether to set up approach skis or a split board for next season. Nice problem to sort through methinks.

Splitboard... All the way..
I LOVE my Burton Split...

I'll probably ride Tucks next year.... I talk a big game but it's all different when your looking down the Chute... :)

I just get jeaslous of telemarkers and their ability to just go anywhere with those free heels...

Free your heel, and the rest will follow.

Heel free or die!

The end is near regardless, but in the meantime.....

Maybe I am in fact moving over to "two planks", as evidenced by recent (admittedly not free-heeling) purchase:

Just something to think about...those deep turns loosen snowpack..

I agree though occassionally I am jealous.

Lack of control at high speeds... Less effective edge.... Hard boots... Unstableness...
To short to handle severe crud...

I could go on - but I dont want to ipss anymore people off today...

No I wasn't really namecalling  , I was just referring to several provocative statements imbedded in the thread (some of which I may have been responsible for) - as in a "troll" for a "bite" or reaction.

I think there should be a troll smilie in the list.

I just see %99.9 of people on them leaning back and forth and looking very uncentered on anything except groomed...

I don't know if Bladegirl is in the 0.1% ... I'd think so because she does it so much...
I know a guy(Chris Hawks) that competes in the XGames on blades doing slopeside and stuff.. But new guys like Tanner Hall are acing him now...

Bladegirl and Bladeguy are absolutely incredible on blades. I've skied with BG a couple times, and she knows how to get through anything. I'm sure Skilas can second me on this from our day at Cannon, especially in the trees (what? what rope? I didn't see a rope...noooo, that was a piece of yarn somebody put across the trail for decoration)
