View Full Version : Split: Dogs at work
P.S. there is 4th factor for me. I can bring my pooch to work :D
We had a "worksite redesign" thing a few years ago - and they asked for input on changes. I said, "Allow people to bring their dogs" and everyone thought I was kidding (Me having said, "Keg in the corner" didn't help this)
I put some thought into it too: Why the **** not? Lots of people have to leave work at 5pm becuase they got a little pooch at home with his legs crossed... allow the dogs at work and people will work more overtime, they won't go home for lunch as much... etc... etc...
I don't think anyone making the decisions had ever been to a workplace that allowed dogs. I know a ton of them.

Very correct! Before i knew Kayden (the pooch) would behave well enough in the studio i left her at home. I went home for lunch (longer lunch) and made it a point to get home at a reasonable hour. Now i bring her and i work more for sure! she's the only thing i need to worry about and i'm the only thing she cares about so she's fine...makes overtime just about as bearble as it can be. There are alot of dogs here in Portland and it's a pretty excepting canine community as a whole. Although once in a while when i walk into our 10 story building with mostly suite and tie folks a get a strange look...oh well.
woof woof!
Dogs make everything better!
When she was a pup...

nice! The vets that i've talked too say larger dogs are usually 100% depandable (withthe potty thing) anywhere between 5 and 7 months...not too bad

I guess i should consider myself lucky to be able to bring my baby to work everyday.

I somehow found a stock research firm where dogs & casaul attire are allowed.

I bring Lhotse to work with me everyday.. just plays around with the other dogs (1 lab, 1 bulldog, and occasionally a poodle), or she naps under my desk.. I love it! I work in an Architectural firm that allows dogs and casual attire.:) gotta love it!

The Burton kids next door always bring their dogs in... And they are allowed beers, hacky sacking and "rest" in the parking lot at lunch! :envy:

back in the daze, we would go for training rides and take a break on woodland paths to adjust our headsets :)
