Hey all...bagged a couple of four thousand footers today(Flume and Liberty). Hiked up the liberty springs trail to the liberty springs campsite where I chatted with the ranger. The trail was pretty steep the whole way. Not too many flat areas. We then continued on to the junction w/ the franconia ridge trail. After that it was a short, but steep hike to the summit of Mt. Liberty. Ate some lunch on the top w/ spectacular views in all directions, as the clouds had lifted after some stormy looking weather in the morning. Could see the slopes of Loon mountain perfectly, which is one of my favorite places to snowboard. After lunch on the summit we continued south down the ridge trail to Mt. flume. The trail was pretty easy and took us about 45 min. The summit of flume had great views as well. After that it was back across to Liberty. The way down was pretty tiring because it was really steep. There might be some :camera: to come once i get the film developed. All in all it was a very fun trip...totalled 8 hours and covered 10.2 miles. Unfortunately, there was no snow to be seen anywhere   .
Well, that was fun doing my first TR lol...

Nice to read too :)
Last thurs. a pal and I played hooky and scored Eisenhower and Monroe. I miss the part about skiing back down! I highly recommend the Ammonusuc Ravine Trail! (btw, do take the short detour to "The Gorge", you won't regret it...'specially if it's a hot August day!
MMMmmm... fresh NH Mountains.

Thanks RR. Ive hiked eisenhower twice....very nice hike. Still have to do Monroe tho. Never taken the Ammonusuc Ravine Trail but will look into it, sounds like fun. As for the Gorge, deffinetly a great place to go on a hot August day.

Nice trip report.
I want to try the Ammonusuc Ravine Trail also. So far I just always end up on the other side of the mountain instead! ;)

YES! Sounds very good.
We had a discussion about a group hike on Khatadin over the summer, but this might be closer for some people. Although I'm inclined to do both if I can get the right weekends free.
