Hello everyone!
Are there any snowshoeing clubs or outdoor clubs in New Hampshire? I am in college and we have designed a snowshoeing pole. It collapses down into three sections and is adjustable between the lengths of 42" and 56".
I have to hand out over 200 surveys, and it is very difficult. If anyone can help me out or would like to hear more about the pole, let me know.
Thanks!!!

How are they tightened?
Do they twist tight or is a flicklock type like BD's?

To me it's all about how small I can break them down...
I like everything to fit in my pack...
Shovel, probe, poles, etc......

Very good point!
Im also concerned w/ frozen poles that need to twist to pack down. I hate that!
Flick Locks rule!
I have the BD's with the flintlock...
Good stuff...

The Appalacian Mountain Club has a chapter in New Hampshire that leads winter outings, including snowshoe trips. The NH AMC web site is at http://www.amc-nh.org/
They do week-end day trips lead by individual leaders and they have scheduled a winter workshop that will include beginner and intermediate clinics on snowshoeing for January 7 to 9, 2005.
Boston Chapter also occassionally does a snow shoe trip in the White Mountains.
All AMC trips are listed in the publication "AMC Outdoors."
See the AMC web site at http://www.outdoors.org for contact information to request copies.
As to adjustable poles, I prefer the push button catches as a bomb-proof and freeze-free alternative to plastic expansion nuts or delicate and jam-prone flip levers. Take a look at Indigo's buttons with the sealed holes to keep out dirt.

They are twist locks adn they break down into three 14" segments. There is actually 4 segments, but the top two are telescoping to make the pole adjustable. The rest of the pole breaks down like an avalnche probe.
Sorry that it took so long to get back to you all.
I appreciate the input!! Thanks for the feedback.
