No snow yet to carve, so we spent the day carving some pumpkins (only $2 each at Loblaws!).

OMFG, Dave, those are amazing!!! The whole display is wonderful, and a great photo too! Loved the teardrop, and the detail on the ballplayer is great! How do you *do* that? Only one question: wheres the skier? ;)

Actually that isn't a ball player, thats my son Adam... here is the original photo which has used as the template for Kate's carving skills...

The bottom carving is 'Halo 2' which my son pre-ordered the other day.

Sorry about the lack of skiing... next year we'll carve the ravine!

So DMC, did you pre-order the silver edition? No sure that my son will do with the silver box, but I gather it comes with some extras for the extra $10.

I seriously couldn't figure out what the difference was... So I just got the normal one...

Also - Half-life II is coming out soon... That should help me pass the cold weeknights in the mountains - while I'm away from my woman.....

I was about to negate your "best game ever" comment by stating that Half-Life 2 is coming out soon. PC Gamer (which is usually spot on with their reviews) said it is arguably the best game ever. It looks amazing. I can't wait.

I like HL and HALO for different reasons...
It's tough to say which I prefer...

I'm not sure if i have a PC that can handle HL II right now

Not really usre yet...
I've been just using my laptop for so long - I havent even fired up the desktop in a year...
I'm going to tear it apart and maybe replace the graphics card for HLII...

It's on the list... ;)

Can HLII run on LINUX???
