Interesting press release floated over my desk today... Company in Toronto has developed the 'free board', a snowboard replica for pavement. Looks like a hoot! Check out the 'Ride Explained Video to see it in action.

Visit http://www.freebord.com :snowboardstyle:

PS. Just noticed however that this isn't so new! We had that site listed on SkiCentral back in 1999... is this an old idea that has come back from the dead?

I demoed a Mnt board at a Mt Snow national and have decieded to keep my sliding to snow. Even with full downhill body armor on it was a very painful experence.

Snow is the only thing I don't surf on one plank. In addition to proper surfboards, I surf the streets on a 52" longboard. I looked into the Freebord -- looks pretty crazy, more snowboard-like than surfboard-like. There's another one called the Flowboard, which has something like 8 wheels on each truck.

Crazy, I tell you!
