Great resource. Thanks, I need as much practice as I can get. It ain't the real thing, but it keeps you thinking clearly. Rep given.

You can certainly see in their example how multiple burials would wreak havoc on your search.

Okay, I get a pinpoint...I don't want to chop off my buddy's ear or nose as I dig..

I stand on the point with the Tracker oriented perpendicular to the ground? with the lights and number screen lowest? and start 2 meters off the ground and bring it closer to the surface get burial depth??

Just asking...never done any of this stuff.

Then you whip out your probe and start probing. Once you locate your buddy with the probe, then you start digging. You should have an idea on the depth from your probe.

once you get the vicinity this point is where your(or a friend standing by) probe the spot to get a positive on victim-then dig dig dig the #'s only can tell you so much

:p Remember the Beacon is just 1 of at least 3 tools should be carried. Probe and Shovel are the other. And a cool head.

Or your buddy could die while your digging all around him. I was a little up in the air about the probing thing too. You only have to probe in a complete burial. The beacon is good but not that perfect.

grit teeth and hope the probe doesn't come up bloody....yeah, I get the point you guys are making....

CRP hurts like hell....the alternative, while less painful is terminal.

Most probes aren't that sharp either. For the most part skiers are wearing quite a bit of gear. Helmets, Goggles, Heavy Jackets and what not. And who knows how they are laying in the snow and what has or has not been ripped off in the slide.

At Job #2 now and have had the chance to try it out, very good demos.

CPR done when appropriate, is painless. If it's needed in the BC, to quote Donny Brasco "Fogiddahbowditt"

Getting the victim to the surface, FAST, with a clear airway is what's going to make a difference. I suppose I should think about upgrading my F1.

Better yet, I should buying my friend and upgrade for his F1. Afterall, that's the beacon that would be used to find me :)
