Who'se in? I've been the last 2 years and it's a good time for all. Usually crowded - but crowded with nutty "I GOTTA SKI" type people who are usually pretty good... one of the only days I feel comfortable skiing bumps with so many people right next to me.
And if you run into someone - you just laugh.
It's usually in the Nov 11th time frame... I think we've got a couple people on the board who head up there so we can get the reports about blowing the mice out etc...
Opening day prediction from the Kmart website (AWF post below)
Seems like I've heard about the actual day by word of mouth - I don't remember it being on the website or anything in previous years.
Ticket price is usually higher than you want - normal preseason full day rate... and people have usually hiked for turns long before the lifts are open to the public... but for fatties like me who don't get into ski-shape until Janurary... it works.

Scattered throughout the house not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse.
I went to look for my gear,
'Alas!' I say! 'It is not here!'
'Where oh where had my gear gone today?'
'Did they get up at first snow and go out to play?'
The snowflakes outside taunted and teased me,
I wanted to slide on them for that feeling to be free.
'Oh snow sliding gear, where can thou hide?'
'I'm itching to play in the snow and am ready to slide.'
Discovery to be had under dirt and some dust,
it's now time to scrape off that rust!
Snow sliding time could not happen sooner,
I cannot wait for my slip sliding nooners!

I'm at 1400' here in Sunapee, NH and it's been snowing better part of the morning.... actually a mix... like slush blobs dropping from the sky. Kinda makes me think of the deleted scenes from A.H.'s film, The Birds. Good thing it washes off. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
Just north of me in Grantham, they already have about and inch or 2 but the roads are just wet.
AND more to come!

Confirmed by my wife who also notes they're plowing the highway (I-89). we're at about 1200'. up in hanover, it's still mostly rain - just a liitle snow, but elev. is only about 400' here.
i'm a happy boy, but wish i could play in it - shoulder surgery has me out 8-10 weeks. :( i know the TR's for the next couple days are going to make me green with envy!

I will definitely consider it.... I might be either in:
A) Las Vegas at the annual Luxury Travel Expo which would dovetail into...
B) Snowbird/Alta
C) Steamboat travel industry weekend
D) Hanging out in Sunapee
I'll know in about a week. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I have a grooming appointment on Sunday...http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif........
.... a B/C trail grooming appointment! http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif This should be interesting... chances are greater that there will be snow on it already. At least it'll be easier to see the lines through the trees.

I'll only drive if you make me dessert ;) Though I think I may stick local and hike Wildcat or Mt. Washington.

Dessert could be arranged
And I'd way rather stay in the Valley rather than go to BigK

That would have been me and I was guessing. Educated guess. Here is my though process. They already have 12” before this storm and they have been firing the snow guns since Monday (I believe). My guess is that if they get snow out of this storm they’ll open. Otherwise why run the guns now if they are expecting rain?? 1 week of guns plus 20+ inches of natural. That should give them enough to open. Reason they didn’t announce it yet .. they won’t know if it’s going to be rain or snow until after the storm. I’d keep a close eye on there web site Thursday and Friday.
PS If Washington gets pounded I might blow off work on Friday to go up. Got be down here for Sat.
