The Ski Mountaineering World Championship was held at Cuneo Italy (http://www.skimountcuneo2006.it/eng/index.asp) from Feb 27 to March 4. On Friday an avalanche (http://www.skimountaineering.org/node/295#en) kicked off during the middle of the individual race partially burying some of the racers. I heard about that almost right after it happend.... a few friends were in that comp and one of them emailed me a "Holy Sh!t" notice. Thankfully none I knew got caught in it although I still don't know the details. Waiting on more emails.

Like RR said.... Lookout! It happens! I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happens at Jay soon considering the dumping they just got.

How many were injured. Were there any fatalities, as the clip was unsure.
