Bob Smith’s has AT (and I think tele too) boots at 40%, plus I saw a pair of $200 27.0 thermoflex Lasers (still a current inline boot in Europe - softer than Matrix, but lighter too), although the $200 non-thermoflex Laser next to it is not such a great deal. Markdowns on skis varied, but worth a look. (Plus lots of $20 lycra xc race suits for the aerobically inclined, and the Karbon vests & jackets are a great deal too at $20; climbing gear at 40% off, but not much is left.)
Across the street at EMS, lots of good deals on prior season and current season skis. Forgot to check what the boot & binding discounts were.
Meanwhile at REI, the remnant ski selection has been moved to the basement - for shame! (Although more deserving of shame is the person who returned a pair of BD flicklock poles after FIVE seasons of use - as the clerk remarked, “those are the customers we don’t like.”)

 Brother. Tell me about THEM!
Glad to see you're still around Jon, long time. Let me know if you're headed through Utah anytime. I'm hunting these end of season sales like a shark man, need new :skis:
There are some 05 TM-X (184 @ 118-84-110) at EMS for short money. The '06 Crossbows (179cm, 2 more pairs left) rang up for one customer at 180 with the extra 30% off clearance price sale this w/e.
Some rental sell off TM-22 with G3 binders are $275 one pair is 180 and the other is shorter.

:badwords: Damn! I just got some Crossbows in N. Conway for $269!!! I thought that was a great deal given the retail price of $570.
Oh well, I learned how to mount bindings myself and took 'em up to Jay for the weekend--haven't seen snow like that in a long time. Over-the-knee pow in the woods, and still snowing!

RR-you said once that the crossbow is for tall people who like a stiff ski right? Local EMS has 2 of the 179's except noone arond here buys skis, im just waiting for the one pair to dissappear before i jump in.

Last year's was stiffer, in the tail. This year it's not stiffer in the tail. very round and smooth with the evenness giving a nice release to the next turn whether short or long radius. I guess the super stinx and some others might be a trifle quicker, but the 'Bows are the quickest I have ever skied.
Still stiff for a ski that much on the light side. Last year I would have picked the Ethic for my tele boards (176cm) but this year's model I'd go with the 179 Bows...same as my AT ski lerngth.

Question about crossbows: If you ski them on the wrong feet, do you really notice a difference in their torsional stiffness/edge hold ability?
