View Full Version : The hobbling wounded
Having beat me to it today ski&ride goes first:
My season is done, no Daks or spring Tux for me :( Unless the snow holds until June (not this year). Getting an aggrivating bone spur removed off the top of my left foot this Friday...a sacrifice that's worth it for the future. I'd like to try & get in another T4T Daks hike this summer though! :)

The new is in for me too. In four weeks I'll be switching the lights out with a plan to having a fixed up knee when the lights come back on.
The Dr says he wants to grind down several bone spurs and reshape the inter-condular notch. While he is working in there he plans to chase down and remove two loose bodies. A couple of weeks later PT will be in full swing. Mid-summer hiking seems likely.
Mrs RR saw her Dr and the MRI confirmed torn PCL and torn MCL...ACL is fine meniscus also fine. Her Dr sent her to co-consult with my Dr...we had a good chuckle and wondered about a family rate...no go on that dept. No Surgery for Mrs RR, but she gets a swanky new brace and PT.

I thought it read the wobbling hounded.... ooops, my bad. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif
I almost have to ask "What have you two been doin'?"....... We know the public answer to that.... http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif
Now RR, you gots to get bettah' soon... the earlier the rehab, the stronger the repairs will be when you go to really use it in the future hiking/sliding adventures.
May it go well, my prayers and thoughts will be with you.

Hey, good luck with that!!! It sounds very optimistic :) I'm glad the Mrs. is going for the non-invasive, strength training option for her injuries.
Let's plan a rehab night at the 'bones, where all are welcome to come & buy us "recovery drinks"... ;) (belated in my case, but it counts??)
Keep us posted as the date draws near.

Best of luck and good health, Rob and S&R. Concentrate on rehab and start planning those cool, mellow hikes that you've never gotten around to b/c you've been too hard core.
S&R, a coworker somehow selected this winter to do remove the bone spurs from her second foot. I blame her for being on Ullr's good side and him granting her the mercy of a so-so winter during her convalescence. If it rains all summer, I'm blaming you guys.

DOH! Well, I elected NOT to have my spur removed this winter, & we know the outcome of this in the east... So lets call it a wash, & hope for a warm, dry summer followed by mounds of snow!
Thx for the good luck wishes, btw. :)

Thanks all...showtime is May 16th...
I'll be hiking with the kids this year- a couple slow pokes would be more than welcome. Got a book of hikes in New England that are good for kids.

I'ld be up for taking it easy! Just getting out somewhere is pleasure, slow or fast doesn't make a bit of difference.
May be another T4T summer bash may be in order. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif

And I'll stay overnight at your party this year, I'll skip the a.m. hockey practice! (I wasn't in top form after the party last yr anyway)
