Happy day! Next step is to have the bone plate put back in his head, poss. eye surgery, & ongoing rehab, but things have really worked out well. Especially after such a traumatic brain injury. What a relief, & he's coming home today!

From http://www.friendsofjason.net/

Monday was a day that included a lot of discussion on the next leg of his journey on Jason's Road Home. His team at Spaulding feels he will progress faster and better now if he is in his own environment. Jason will be discharged from Spaulding on Friday, May 19th to embrace life back at home in Nashua. Jason is thrilled he is coming home Friday, but knows things will be very much "different" for a while.

Jay doesn't remember anything about the accident, or the first 6-7 weeks after the accident (we're in week 9 now) and he has so many unanswered questions. He continues to demonstrate great progress in his recovery but still has a long road home. Jason considers "home" to be that time when he can resume his life again and he realizes that will take some time. He will continue his therapy at Spaulding 4-5 days a week, all day, for at least 6 more weeks. Spaulding has been amazing and they truly have done wonders throughout his recovery. Spaulding has so much to offer, which is why Jay so will continue therapy there even with daily runs to and from Boston.

To all Jason's Support Team... THANK YOU! You all are such an important part of his miraculous recovery which is far from over! Thanks to all his friends and family who made many trips to Boston, your visits brightened his days. Thank you for the flowers, gifts, cookies and so many cards. To quote Jason "I love it". He will be home 5/19 and the door is open to all who want to visit him. Jason still needs "Jay's Support Team", maybe now more then ever. He understands everything that is happening to him now and that can sometimes be more difficult. He is determined to recover fully and get his life back... no doubt he will. The updates will continue as does his journey down Jason's Road Home.

Thx to everyone here for your great support. -ski&ride

Wow, good news!
I didn't realize he was not retaining memories post-accident. Glad to hear that the past few weeks have stayed with him!

Excellent news. Very good to hear his recovery is continuing. While it never can seem to happen fast enough, all forward progress is great news.

Thanks for the update.
