View Full Version : The Rocket Refueled in Houston

I saw an interesting question on the Sportingnews page this morning. Any one else intrigued that Clemens came back to the majors after all teams hit the 50 game mark; the new first offense penalty for chemical enhancement? I though that some of you would be able to comment on this interesting point. Not sure what I think. Would MLB have cut a deal to not announce it and let him “unretire”? Puzzling?!?
That's a bold accusation. But that's what internet forums are all about! So flame on... I was really hoping he'd come back to BOS and I'd get to see him pitch in person. I thought he'd do it so he could maybe retire in boston, as one of the "stipulations" on getting your number retiered is that you spend you last year as a red sox.

I would have loved to see him in Beantown again. I cannot believe the contract. $22 million for the year prorated for his time in the majors, as he actually signed a minor league contract. If he begins playing in Houston on June 22nd he gets just over $12.6 million (I think I have the numbers right) He is going to start in single A pitching on the same team as his son, then a game at AA then back to A. He should be back to Houston by mid to late June. It will be an interesting story for the rest of the season. Wonder if he will hang 'em up for good at the end of teh season or go for 1 or 2 more. Hope it's fun to watch!
Reps to SkiDog on so many counts..
Beer Snobbery...we are the knights who say "ALE", you must appease us! We want a Brew Pubbery!
Recalling that Roger will get to play baseball with his son in the Minors...and hey, the kid is pretty good, maybe in the majors too!
The list goes on!

I'm not sure if Roger will hang around long enough to play in the majors with the kid but that would be cool too!
