What is this storage concept that you speak of? :D

I put on a layer of Swix Universal and don't bother scraping it off.

I used regular candle wax a couple years ago..... my ex girlfriend's 'nice candles' at that.... That was one of the reasons why she's now an ex. I really got the riot act read to me that time. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif After all.... wax is just wax...right? http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif Guys..... I don't recommend this method unless you're trying to extricate yourself from an outgrown relationship. http://www.timefortuckerman.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Incident aside..... I rarely waxed my skiis for storage. If I were to do it, I'ld put on a warm wax expecting to ski it off on a fall day which may be semi cold.

I'm with 8s on warm wax. Jeez, though, it doesn't matter much. Pretty solid evidence suggests the biggest function of storage wax is covering your edges against atmospheric salts and water (rust). If you're really into waxing, you're going to want a deep penetrating wax cycle for the fall anyway. Use whatever's cheap and at hand.

FYI, here's my storage cycle:
1. Edge tune.
2. Hot scrape to clean; no brushing needed.
3. Coat, cool, and store.

Most of my quiver has had this done to it by now, but there are a few pair that will still see use.

So far...
I brought my skis home from the patrol shack.
Hung two pairs up on the ski rack, leaned the other three against my desk (I'm lazy)
Wife moved them and leaned them against the ski rack in my office.

If we get another rainy weekend I'll consider a) hanging them up or b) actually putting a coat of wax on em and then maybe hanging them up or c) leave em as is where is.
