I'm looking for a pair of 29 plastic wide last boots for my son. He has been a fixed hill skier for the last 17 years ( he's 18 now) and we both are switching over to free heel skiing. We rented some equipment lat year and were instant converts. We can't afford to buy new equipment yet so we are trying to piecemeal our way in. I've converted our alpine skiis over by removing the alpine bindings and adding Rottefella bindings, A-4 I think. My wife bought us some cheap Fisher boots but we are more comfortable in the plastic boots. Probably because of our alpine experience. Anyway if anyone has some used gear please contact me. I will try to update my profile to show my e-mail.
Thanks
Wally

I was gonna say, try IME in No. Conway, NH, but then I saw you are in MI. Good luck.

GO BUCKS! MICHIGAN SUCKS. WE WILL KICK YOUR BUTTS!!
:D :D :D :D
Just had to get that off my chest. Anyway, keep your eye out for online deals through REI, mgear and other gear stores. Some have pretty good deals on older gear--as good or better than what you might find at IME. Also check out the Web site of the outdoor Gear Exchange in Burlington, VT www.gearx.com.
Good luck! It's a great sport!

I reported this post to the Administrator, and the cat catcher.
You better check your rep. stash, buckeye - there may be something stinky there!

Yes, for now...........
Ho, ho
Found this on TTips this AM:
The Outdoor Gear Exchange (gearx.com) has a bunch of T1 bumblebees (~100 pairs) in size s 8.5 & 9 for $199. Mate that with the Scarpa thermoliner on sale at Black Diamond for $99 and you`ve got a great boot for around $300.

Now I know that you really meant Michigan State sucks and it was just a typo. You do need to take it easy on us Michiganders about our sports teams seeing as we are the home of the Lions and the Tigers. Maybe we should just avoid the whole feline name thing altogether.
The Scarpas sound good but my kid has nig dumb gumpy feet like his dad, 10EE is hard to find a good fit in any shoe let alone a ski boot. We have an awsum boot fitter locally but they don't stock any tele equipment and the place that does stock couldn't fit a cheese burger and an order of fries in a Burger King bag. O the trials and tribulations of Michigan skiing!
