Has anyone had any experience with this? i've been in a few serious no fall zones recently where this would have been nice. i understand how someone could belay the first down a chute, but belaying the second with anything like the same level of saftey as the first dosn't really make sense to me. I hear this talked about a lot in ski mountaineering TR's and i was hoping someone could shed some light on it for me.
thanks

belaying can be done by two, with one in front (down the fall line) and one behind the skier/descender (above the decent line). the belayers are both anchored with snow pickets/flukes most likely (or whatever other anchor is setup). as the skier descends, he is tied in to his front loop and rear loop. if the belayer above lets out slack as the skier descends, and the belayer below draws the rope in (tensions) and both are done without any play in the system, the skier should not be impeded by either rope. this i believe is how exum guides ski descents of the grand.
