Quick TR...
Arrived two days after the storm to find 2 feet of fresh at the base. The main road in was not plowed yet. About 8 cars were parked at the end of the pavement. So it was either a 1/2 mile slog in or try my luck with my Subie...let me tell you how much I love my Bridgestone Blizzaks. I fought my way to the lower parking lot and we were the only car there, along with 3 Big 4x4 trucks. Go Subaru!

We were planning a quick assault so we traveled light. I went with slowshoes, my buddy opted to hike in his boots. As we made our way up it looked as if less than 10 people had already been down since the storm, leaving plenty of untracked for us latecomers. But we wanted to get our tracks down before anyone else. Passed 2 groups of skinners(6 people) as we RAN (well it felt like running) up the trail. Only one skier made his way down during the climb.
We reached the ridgeline after an hr 1/2 and decided to head down. We had bagged the peak years ago and the top section of the Tbolt leaves much to be desired...plus we wanted to get our lines in before anyone else came by.
Well the pictures say it all. Snow was beautiful, best for me this season, plenty of untracked in the woods and on the sides of the trail. Really, it was a phenomenal run. We passed lots of hikers/skinners on the way down so we were wise to get up there early.

Subie had no problems getting out and up and over the two hills. All in all, a very sucessful trip.

Yep - blizzaks iz da shizz. Only non-studded tire that actually holds on ice - them little slices act like suction cups.

Cool pics - looks/sounds like killer trip with freshies days after the storm. Someday I'll ride the bolt.:envy:
