Looking to hook up with experienced Ravine skiers who are willing to put up with a 49 year old rookie. Would like to go as early as this weekend or within the next several weeks given that the weather cooperates.
I have been talking about doing Tuckermans' with my buddy since we thought we were good enough to ski it. Started skiing late in life (34), am now (49). I have been getting in shape for this all year. Running and trip to Utah skiing Park City, Deer Valley, Canyons, Snowbird, and Alta bowls and steeps. Unfortunately, my buddy can not make this trip. He is out of commision with dislocated shoulder.
If anyone out there would not mind a tag along I would apprecitate it. Told not to ski alone up there.
I have some volunteer hikers who I think are saying they will go just for my sake. They do not ski and I am not sure they could put up with the wait for the hike back down.
Let me know if you can add another to your party.

I had my fill this year, but I wouldn't be worried about being alone unless you are going mid-week. Expect about a thousand people up there or more on any of the next several weekends. It is a very friendly atmosphere and everyone more or less looks out for each other.
FYI, my Dad is 56 and does it every year, usually kicking butts that are half his age. You'll be fine, enjoy yourself, and bring sunscreen!

Paul - eMail me. I'm going up with friends, brother, son and his friends (I'm 45, Bro is 38) this weekend. Always room for new friends. Planning to make a 3 day weekend of it.

Sounds like I am worrying about nothing. I guess if there are that many people up there it will be difficult to be alone on the hike up or the ski. Thanks for the input.

Thanks for the hospitality Sherpakroto. You ski folks are okay. Advised that I should not worry about going up alone. I think I am going up Friday AM. Had another invite earlier from Nick D. If it is as good as I think it is going to be I might just see you Saturday AM also.
I will give you an email from work tomorrow.

Want to thank this great web site, SherpaKroto and all the other skiers and riders I met at up at Tucks this Saturday. You guys gave a rookie the knowledge and confidence to make that first run. A great day and experience. Can't wait to get back in there!
