I'm looking to head up to Tuck's for the first time this weekend (5/20). If I go up Sat. morning, will I have a problem getting a place to pitch my tent in on of the shelters?
I don't what to haul all of my gear up there and then find out that there is no room for me in the Inn. Thanks.

Might be out of luck. Usually Hermit Lake is booked by then. You can also call Pinkham ahead of time to see if there is anything left... 603-466-2727. See also timefortuckerman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000037.html (http://timefortuckerman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000037.html) .

You need to pay at the bottom at Pinkahm Notch, so you won't end up hiking up with your overnight gear unless you know you have a spot. This time of the year is usually real busy, but most of the snow is gone and with minimal runout the riding is more extreme than usual at this time. So maybe there won't be so many people? Now's your last chance for this season though, so go no matter what. Bring all your gear, and if there aren't any spots in the shelters then do a day trip. It'll be worth it. Plan on getting to the base (Notch) early. Say 4 or 5 AM. Then you can avoid the zoo, and the shuttle bus (hopefully)
