has anyone tried these? they don't look they'd work very well, what with the shaky bindings and stuff.

Folks have been using them. I demoed a pair 3-4 years ago and liked them better than ordinary snowshoes for day trips.

The "integrated climbing skin" sounds like something you cant take off, so the skiing will be like skiing with your skins on. Try that and see how you like it. I found it to be OK for rolling hills, but not a replacement for skiing steeps sans skins. Plus, no crampon-spikes like you'd get with a snowshoe, so when the going gets steep they won't be as versatile. Since you're on blades anyway, you could get removable skins to go with, and AT bindings and have a more versatile setup.

Yeah, i'm not looking at these for an AT setup, I just need a pair of snowshoes and I was wondering about these. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll probably just snag a pair of normal 'shoes.
