As revealed here:

I cant wait to get back out on my modded F1's this season. I only got about 4 days on them after i modded them, but they are soooooo light and wonderful. I actually climbed some vertical ice in them and they ruled!

Details please!

ok.

Basically I got rid of the funky heel upper buckle do-hickey contraption.

I then attached a ratchet buckle to the upper cuff in its place from an old snowboard binding. I used the pre-threaded holes on the outside of the boot, but drilled new ones for the tongue part of the ratchet.

I then drilled a couple of "Speed-holes" as well on the upper part of the boots.

Now it is a solid 2 buckle boot, but has no "ski-mode". This is great however for snowboarding cause i never rode with my boots locked out anyway.

With the Bellows this boots hikes and climbs like ive never experienced. Hell, i was running at a full sprint in 2 feet of pow when Mainwarng was making seizure-angels.

They ride great. Nice and soft, but very solid on edge.

Only thing else i might do is replace the ratchet buckle with a real scarpa upper cuff buckle if i can get my hands on a pair.....

I can post pix when i get home.

Interesting, thanks -- I was wondering how you dealt with the rear lever flopping all around for ice climbing...but replacing it with a regular buckle is certainly a good way of dealing with it!
I hear that the lever on the 2008 version:

...doesn't flop around as much.

Mom is a vampire....no pictures. Are you going to get to the SLT area? Clydesdad and other TTippers will prolly be happy to see a friendly face.

I don't know if the Ellis Peak trails are open to bikes, but you can get a look at the Fourth of July Chutes behind Homewood:

Approach to the bottom is via Blackwood Canyon. Ellis Peak trails get you to the top:
