Level 3 training with a close call last year, but with powder fever he still ignored some signs that would have warned him of instability on top of surface hoar from around Thanksgiving. Watch the signs and be careful out there, people. This is a relatively shallow snowpack for Absarokas / Tetons, but could be similar conditions to those we may find ourselves in the northeast.

Glad everyone got out (for the most part) all right. Hope there's some bonding in the next seven weeks or so.

Just read the "Blog Post" ...

Wow, scary stuff, the writer paints a perfect picture of the event.
Very humbling report, quite a reality check.

Its worth reading if you venture into avi terrain, regardless of how much training you have.
