Sliding the nearby resort for the final weekend of their season. Snow is in the forecast but will prolly not materialize or be mature anti-jinx, anti-jinx. Just booked Inn @ Long Trail Fri-Sat for $75/nt Bed n Breakfast for 2.
Mmmmmmm Guinness on the rock in the Irish Pub.
Mmmmmmm Irish Pub Guinesss Stew to the sounds of traditional music.
Mmmmmmm freshies in the springtime.

Uh, why would you be drinking Guinness if you're anywhere near Bridgewater Corners? Are you a Commie?

Well actually, I am quite sympathetic to the Socialist Workers . . . uh, nevermind.;)
Dood - You ever taste the Guinness at McGrath's? It's exceptional. Plus, it combines with LT to make the official Vermonter half n half. I'd expect a student at the flagship of the State University system to know that much. Oh yeah, you're what, a Soph? Guess you aren't legal yet, so your opinions on adult beverages don't count (at least in Vermont). :p I'll have a pint for you anyway, ssw.:D
Cheers.

Long Trail brewery closes early. McGrath's Irish Pub at the Inn at the Long Trail is the spot.
SSW, Pulver know what's up, don't you worry.
My K-mart trips go like this:
Stop at LT Brewery on the way up. purchase case of beer for weekend.
Ski at Kmart
Drink at McGrath's
Eat Guiness stew
Drink more
Go to Wobbly/Pickle Barrel/whatever
Drink more
Go back to wherever I am staying
Drink more
Pass out
Wake up
Breakfast at Johnny Boys
Ski at Kmart
Head down to brewery
Buy more beer
Go home

Clearly at least one College student is paying attention....
Too bad the Alchemist is too far away from there or you could ignore the Guiness mix and get the good stuff, Pappy's Porter for instance...No Mixing required to achieve perfection!
it's in Waterbury (http://www.alchemistbeer.com/menu.html)

Sorry man, I'm not a Guinness fan I guess. Though for my minor, I'm required to take a class entitled "What's Brewing in Food Culture?" I bet ya you never had the opportunity to take a brewing class in your college experience. :D And that's what really counts. In Vermont, and everywhere else. :p

Pulver, I'll be at Killington this weekend as well. Gotta spend some time with my non-BC bros, even though it looks like it may be a fine weekend on the Rockpile . . .
I'll PM you with contact info.

Cool boardman - No major BC for me either :(. Gotta make up for blowing off the GF and her fam for Easter (so I could chase pow at Jay with Pwdr8s, Pwdrhound and tig :D) by taking her to the Inn.
I'll most likely be sliding at Pico and drinking at the Inn. I'll bring my split, teles and skins and may take a shot at a short BC run up / near the LT after riding the lifts Sat.

My buddy wants to ski Stowe on Saturday, and that doesn't look like an entirely bad idea weather-wise either. I don't want to pay for two days at $teaux so I'll be back at KMart on Sunday.

Looks like the Thur-Fri snow's trending south, yuckster - not sure whether we'll see it at K-Mart, much less Stowe (but what do I know? not much). We'll be sliding and drinking at the same places we met up two weeks ago (prolly without the lunatics from Rutland who entertained us with their antics) and we'll be hard-pressed to leave McGrath's in the evenings.

It's a tough call with the weather. The main storm's snowfall is trending far south, yes. There is some upslope potential after-the-fact, however, which will only affect the north. It's hard to say which will end up being more important.

www.snowforecast.com is calling for 2-5"; Henry's got Rutland somewhere on the cusp of the 1-3"/3-6" line.
But that's no matter, because it's supposed to be sunny and warm up there this weekend, so spring corn will hopefully be served!
Killington extended their season to April 20th, "due to great snow conditions and business levels." Isn't that just so good of them? arghh. Only reason I'm going there is because that's where my friends want to go . . .

dude, you have no idea! that's ALL I've been thinking about all week . . . and I may yet still do it. I just can't see paying $70+/day for K-Mart when I can hit the Ravine for free. dammit.

Check the latest NWS, tig:
WL CONT TO REVIEW THE 12Z DATA...BUT IF TRENDS CONT A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY WL BE NEEDED FOR CENTRAL/SOUTHERN VT ZONES FROM
06Z TONIGHT THRU 18Z FRIDAY. THINKING SNOW ACCUMULATION COULD BE 3 TO 7 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS NEAR KILLINGTON.

Mmmmmmm...... Cardigan is lookin really really posolutely potentially viably good this Saturday! It'll save me at least $50 on gas usage if I stay sorta local..... OR I can slack at Ragged with $10 off coupon from the local paper.
Hmmm.... choices... I like choices.
Have a blast over there Pulver. Raise a toast to ULLR tonight and give him high praise... it worked for me. ;)
Thanks pulver. Me happier! Cardigan definitely looking like a good choice somethime this weekend.
I have a free ticket to stratton. Maybe I should head there. Anything good at stratton (and yes i know its called flatton...:( )?

I have a free ticket to stratton.
Definitely not my fave, mostly due to the crowds and 'tude. But, there is some decent terrain on looker's left - Shooting Star or something? I've been there exactly once since I was a lil kid - for the U.S. Open about 12 years ago. That's actually a fun event and I had a great time watching the pipe, then went up to ride and found the upper mountain empty because everyone was watching the show. I think the Open was a week or 2 ago tho.
I'd prolly use the ticket if it's free. Then again Cardigan pow is tempting . . . and they've issued a Winter Storm Watch . . .
Have fun in any event.

It's not steep, but I always have fun there....free tix every time. See if anyone is offering factory demos....

I may be bailing on Killington. Effin' Saturday ticket is $79, Sunday is $76. That's criminal. I don't feel like dropping $400 this weekend (which, when all is said and done si about what it'll cost). Cardigan and/or the Rockpile are sounding good right about now.

Agreed. Emphasis on greed. That having been said, I ski "the other" nearby area for $39/day with the express pass that cost me $14 earlier this season. A regular 2 day pass there is $98.
If your buds are skiing Kmart, a 2 day eticket brings it down to $72/day which, IMHO is still frickin outrageous.
If I didn't have to take the GF this w/e to make up for last, I'd be hitting Cardigan or rockpile too. But I'm stoked to stay at the inn, walk across the street to ride the lifts at the quiet resort where I grew up, then skin for a couple three fresh laps up the LT after the lifts close before hitting the Irish Pub and drinking Guinness (maybe mixed with some LT) til I stagger up to me room. :)

Yeah yeah yeah... gotta give the lady time too. Keep up with that so you have some other fun to have while not sliding.(edit: on snow that is!) http://www.techsourceconsultants.com/coppermine/albums/userpics/10020/dirtysmile.gif (It's still not as fun as sliding on snow and doesn't last as long. :p )
I'll heed ULLR's suggestion for this weekend yet again for ya... You'll get some, I'm certain. :)

They're reporting 7" this morning on their website, and NWS has a weather advisory up for Rutland, w/ southern Rutland expected to get an additional 2-5" today/tonight.
So maybe I will go to Killington after all . . .
