I am heading up to Pinkham on Monday. Can anyone who has been up the Tuxs Trail this weekend tell me if I should bring snowshoes or is the trail packed enough not to need them. Thanks!:)

Does the trail (Tux trail) have skinable snow from the bottom all the way to Ho Jo's?

Could anyone tell me if the ravine has enough snow coverage to use new skis on? It's just my mom's nervous about scratching up my new prophet 90s.

As with any BC areas, you run the risk of scratching your boards.
I look at it as Soul.
You wont be killing your skis, dont worry.

it all depends on whether you choose to ski on rock or snow. snow, no damage. rock, damage. plenty of snow up there, plenty of rock up there.

when you say rocks do you mean the cliffs and ice fall sort of stuff? I'm kinda new to this tuckerman's ravine stuff

that and random glacial erratics that are present all over the place. gotta work hard to hit those at this point however.

depends on if your run was groomed the night before, if you stick to the groomers you'll be fine.:p
have you not looked at the TR's this week? there is almost (dare i say it) TOO MUCH SNOW!

PUHLENTY...
Seriously, in all the times i've been to the rockpile, don't think i've EVER run into a problem with abusing my gear. It's just not really an issue. I have even taken some new planks bought that spring up without hesitation.

I went in late may last year, and last year was a lousy snow year, and there was still plenty of snow. Seriously, at this time there is just a ton of snow, you would have to really try hard to scratch them. And if you were to get into a situation where you would scratch them, you would have more than just damage
to your ski's. Just be smart, take runs that don't have rocks near them, which are very easy to find.
