Weather: Cobalt/bluebird sky, gentle breezes until midday, then mild winds, warm but not hot temps...radiational cooling late.
Left Gulley 11:45-12:45:
Snow was edgey and sweet carving in the shade on the right fork at the top of left gulley...I skipped the headwall because I might not have remembered where the fracture lines lurked in the mid section of the gulley's headwall. Upper left was running sluffs all morning, but the turns were more carvey than skids for me (minor miracle!) The throat was well covered and moguls well placed for turning right on through. Middle Left was bumped up with pretty good uniformity, not real big, but longer arcs worked fine. I had to stop to catch my breath. I watched some skiers from Jay and Burke..a real treat! I have to confess that I make a lot of joyfull noise coming down the hill....I regret that my mania distresses anyone, but IT'S GREAT TO BE ALIVE!

Okay, where was I...oh, half way down Left. The moguls got a little scattered so I sidled over to the left and took the roll steep near the steps and just barely remembered to bail left to cross under the Chute....odd because I was on my way to a Double Bag..anyway I guess I didn't stink the joint out, some folks liked my turns.

Took a break for some Ale and sundry comestables..then hiked up the Chute. Snow was getting firmer and there were more falls as I hiked up. Sat in the rocks above the vanishing point for a while...such a glorious day, still no clouds and just a bit of wind. Skied the rounded upper slope to the decision point and opted for crossing to the headwall...a few decent tuns up high and some faster arcs across the crevasses and back to the rocks below the Center Right. Another Double Bag and it was time to go...
Leaving...
Skied to the low point and ski booted to the crossing below the TRVSP cache. My snow bridge stayed intact and I went into the trees for the thrash to lower snowfield. CL's snow bridge collapsed as he crossed, but he made it too. We thrashed and got a few turns in good snow, then thrashed to the runnout of Hillman's and skied to the Shelbourne and booted to HoJo's.
Whew! I need a nap! I hope your day was super too!
