Post Feeling Let Down This Morning

Is anyone else here in the NorthEast sick and tired of commuting to work in the rain. This has to be the rainiest spring, summer and fall I can remember. I am just tired of it.

There seemed to be so much excitement and build around those first flakes that now I feel totally and utterly depressed. This morning I woke up to 37 desgree temps outside. I thought surely Mt. Washington would be colder and it must have snowed I thought - WRONG. It was 36.8 degrees on the mountain. This warm weather is taking a toll on me in the sameway the cold takes on those fair weather people around me who complain about how cold it is when its 50.

I need cold. I need to dress in layers. I need snow. I need to ski.

Is anybody listening? Does anybody really care what I need?

I hear you, but I think it's a good sign of a wet winter. We're still in the point where the ocean is relatively warm and we continue to shift out of the sun. If the wet conditions prevail, it will make for lots of snow when winter finally arrives.

Plus this water is actually going into the ground, finally cancelling the drought.

It does suck to commute in, though.

Moisture is wasted, unless the temps are below freezing.

Not totally wasted - A lot ends up in the snow making ponds - and then gets turned into what all water wants to be: SNOW

Doesn't rain start out as snow/ice crystals formed around a dust particle up in the clouds and falls to earth as rain when the temps are mild at the surface?

Therefore in my math world

rain=snow and that is good.

With a little bit of luck, St-Sauveur could open saturday or sunday. If it opens this weekend, I'll be there sunday with some pics for you after

There is still some snow, at St-Donat downtown, even after the high 50s temps, yesterday, so I guess it must have at least 2-3" at la Réserve actually hmmmm. It's weird, cause there is nothing remaining at Tremblant... even on the top..... but St-Donat is quite more snowy than Tremblant.

Keep courage, the coming week is THE one !!!

I'm eager to see the "moderation" for bagr's last post
