woke up bright and early yesterday morning, brewed a pot of coffee and made delicious 7 layer breakfast sandwiches (egg, cheese, parsnip, spinach, apple butter, jalapeno chicken sausage, maple oat bread) for my two ski buddies. you probably want one of these sometime--it sure starts the day right.
popped into the car, drove by a copper mine, and showed up at stowe with the sun shining and a delicious-looking snow covered ridge. Took the hiking boots for a spin up to the snow, and then put the AT boots and skinned to the top. I love a well defined skin track in november.
Encountered a double-fisting snowman on the sun deck. Jealousy ensued: I've always wanted a beer that is as tall as I am.
turned around and took our first run. There was a lot of whooping.
chillaxed into the back seat for a turn or two. it's like low-riding a pair of atomics.
came back up for another run, overlooking the foothills in all their late fall splendor--VT does alright for itself, eh?
and, on the way out, fastgrass! nothing like it.
just wanted to make sure you all didn't think that everyone in vermont was paying for tickets at killington this weekend... lots of good folks up at stowe, big grins and cold beers, and old father snowman keeping it real. took it home at the alchemist for delicious beer, tasty burgers, and maple porter cake and finished off with a contentedly stokeful car ride back to the upper valley.
