MTB Stokage Thread...

Stoke...operating on the idea that it's adding a good amount fuel to the fire, right when it is needed...whether or not there are photos or movies...

May 6th, YHS managed a good long haul on some gnarly Middlesex Fells single track for the first time in many years. It was not planned, it just happened. There I was, riding over to spend a couple of hours riding on Fire Roads with short connections via single track, when I saw Magenta cards with arrows (there were White cards with arrows too). There were also more a lot more riders than I figured for a nice weekend day.

It turns out that there was an event going on, the Kona Bicycles MTB Adventure Ride, a fells fundsrsaiser. I just followed that magenta arrows and found myself on single track, for a couple of hours! I confess to walking every bridge and several sections of the hardest gnar, but a solid 90% was riding.

It was a welcome surprise and it served to light another fire, one I though had been forever put out.

Thank you Dr Bono, thank you Stryker, the new knee is coming along just fine.

PS, thanks also to the young couple who allowed this old has been to tag along while they set the pace...you two were an essential part of my old fire getting relit for the first time in 12 years. I raise my pint of porter in gratitude!

PPS: y'all feel free to add your own MTB stoke, Single track, Down Mountain, Unicycle...whatever...so long as it is about feeding the fire

Glad you re-stoked the bike love this weekend. I've been consoling myself about the lack of spring skiing by hitting the singletrack for the past couple months.

Here's a little video about passing the torch to the new season for the stoke pile.... http://nebackcountry.blogspot.com/20...n-kingdom.html

See you on the trails.
