Wish I'd stayed longer! It turned out someone had my credit card info and was busy making charges while I was enjoying the snow, food and great company. Had to cancel the card.

Sunday wasn't a bluebird day, but warm and nearly windless with no cloud shadows on the snow. Even though the region was ringed in clouds, the mountain did not make a single cloud until after I left at 2:30 or so.

Pix from the less well attended Sunday:

Skiable vert on the top patch was all of 75 feet, discounting the rock chip section at the lower margin of the patch. I did not go to the lower patch today, taking just two runs on the upper patch.

Some folks said the lower patch was a bit rocky, but the skiing was good.

Got poles for tomorrow's 10th Mountain Memorial Day Slalom...I may have to get a bit creative on placement.....

Memorial Day

Great meeting you yesterday, Rob and thanks for setting the gates! We only took a couple more laps after you left then went over to check out Airplane/Pipeline.

We didn't actually ski Airplane since it was getting on in the day at that point. The snow sure looked smooth... and short! Afraid you're right, monster, the season's about done. We were scoping and planning for next season and that's a lot of fun, too!

Thanks Steve!
A few pix from Memorial Day:
The slalom course, reduced to just Start Gates, four gates and Finish Gates

Great snow, but alas, not much left

Some consolation...

Wow. Looks like you all had a great time! Wish I could have made it but I was busy driving from Boston to Denver....out here permanent now. Hopefully I will make it back out there a couple times this winter to visit friends and hit the Rockpile!
