July 4 Ski Stoke from CO

So I have recently moved to Denver, and was pretty psyched to be able to make some turns on St. Marys Glacier today for some AMERICA! 4th of July turns! It is actually a permanent snow field, and not a glacier (skiing 12 months a year sounds good to me!) Some where around 700ft of vert top to bottom.

Approaching Saint Marys Lake

First view of the Snow

Looking down at the lake from the beginning of the "glacier"

Looking up the "glacier"

Looking down slope from the end of the snow at somewhere around 11,500ft

Me in the saddle between James Peak (13,260ft) in the back ground and the end of the snow. Adding James peak to the winter ski list...

Over all a great morning out in the mountains! Happy 4th of July everyone!!

Beautiful scenery! How long was the hike to reach the snow?

^^ That is awesome. Great pics. My countdown to October has begun, and will begin in earnest (O Cold! Glorious Frost!) when the ragweed pollen starts a-flyin' around here. Soon enough...
