This will be my fourth year in a row taking a trip out west. I went every other year the 8 before.
Here is the trip from my first year to Kirkwood and Carson's Pass in the Sierras.
Here is my planning from last years trip which I ended up traveling North to Jackson.
Began casually looking a week ago and did not plan to have booked everything so soon. Started looking around at the current state of airline costs. Shocked at how much more SLC was for the Presidents Day week I must travel, then some other airports. Casually looked at snowcat and heli operations just to get a sense of what they offer. Their prices were beyond what I wish to spend, but I was surprised how many were already booked. Motivated me, that if i wanted to do a hut trip and my vacation time was not flexible, I should get on it.
So after i put my trip together, I found out that it is nearly a copy of one
FIS did a few years ago. Probably I read their report and it stuck in my head.
