Gos -
Got a nice early arrival at pn around 9:00am - wow they were parked a 1/4 mile on the road in each direction. Weather looking great, some dark clouds over wildcat but moving the right way so all good. Drop off in the lot, J off to park the truck and who do I see, TeleDancer, last time we met was at loon post season, up north peak, nice long run down sunset, across to south peak and rip saw to the spotted car. He introduces me to TuaGuay and BVeryRad - nice to meet you all for sure (I have some pix of you guys - pm and I'll email), great to put faces to names. Now it was shaping up to be a great day, the masses heading for tuckerman and not much traffic on gost, the snow was soft, I would have liked to be there an hour earlier. Nice up, warm, quick lunch then up, soft snow and nice booter premade. A little windier up top, snow was soft and workable. Oh, and I thought I saw surf88 up there today as well, but on skis, you up there surf?

Good TR
Nice pics.. Looks like you had a fun time on the east side. Yuckster and I were busy harvesting corn from the west. Good day!

Yeah, I had been concerned that the west would be too wind exposed, but the gamble paid off and conditions were nicer than I feared. We both were on a mission to tag that side - hadn't had a chance yet this season.

creamed corn
it was quite well visited but I never felt crowded on the hill. I think a fair percentage may have been hikers.

Wow. Was teaching at BW telefest and from our perspective, the Rockpile looked like it wasn't getting much sun at all. Glad to hear we were wrong!

you're right
it was sunny from about 10am -12pm but since it hadn't refrozen last night even non-sunhit areas were nice.

GoS
I got up there a little late, as usual. It was 2:30 or so by the time I got to the bottom of the main chute. Lots of people up there today. I think I was one of the last to go down the hill today. Clouds looked pretty ominous to the west when I was at the top. I took a few minutes to rub on some spring wax before heading up. I'm glad I did because I think it would have been pretty grabby otherwise. I had the Icelantics so it was pretty easy to ski the softer, deeper stuff along the edge. Creamy goodness. The run down GoS trail was pretty fun. Starting to get pretty bumped up. Got driven to the tails of my skis on one of the big dips and almost had a collision with another guy. I felt like a d*ck. Just didn't have enough left in my legs to stand up like a man. Man, I gotta get in shape!
