GOS or Oakes recently?

Has anybody been in the GOS or Oakes Gulf recently? I'm thinking of alternatives to Tux this weekend and am looking for info on recent conditions. it doesn't seem like we have any recent TRs from there. Thanks a lot!

Recently - in the last week (or last 2 weeks).

I just want to know the extent of the cover ad general conditions. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Coverage is spotty in the "blog-free zone".

That is to say it has spots on it where it can be recognized in the TRs

Ok, as of Saturday, Oaks still had a ton of snow. It picked up quite a bit from the last storn, it was wet & manky, but it could be prety by now.

Then add a 2.5 hour drive!! But that's much better than my 4.25 drive anytime.
Wouldn't it be quicker to just stay on the east side?

yup left newmarket at 4:15am, hiking by 7am, skied, hiked down, done b4 1pm and 2 hrs 15 min back 4 work. east side is only 15 minutes faster and i generally only ski tucks/gos november-feb, then move around to other stuff as it gets good. i do pull some pretty silly days especially cuz i won't ski tracked snow and sometimes go to great lengths to keep it that way. if i see tracks, new or old, i move on. there are many places i ski that i don'T report on. i just report common stuff, just cuz.

When I left, it poured and erased my trax, leaving another day with another clean canvas..which was enjoyed today by Rog, it'll be clean for friday though!

Sick

We're all a little sick that we're out here mid-week, 75 and sunny, talking about getting out skiing. Yee haw. Trying to take a vaca on Friday and I think this seals it for me. Everyone I know thinks I'm nuts. Maybe I am but there is plenty of time to bike the next 6 months..... I still see white up there.

Oakes is done. Big disapointment. Must have gotten too much sun.
