Anyone have any details? I hope it turned out ok. It was pretty scary to watch and the person was obviously pretty bad off. Sending good thoughts out.

Watched it all happen today... Skier fell in chute well above where it gets tight, tumbled top over bottom till he hit the giant bolder on skiers right. Tumbled another 400 yards until he stopped. My buddy who is a fireman helped out with the rescue. Skier was unconscious for a good 20+ minutes then came to. They feared brain injur which is why he was flown out. I have some great video of the bird flying into and trying to land in the bowl. Will post tomorrow when I get back home.
Word is that the skier will be ok but time will tell.
Snow was very heavy today and only a few weeks of bowl skiing left.

So many close calls at the very spot. Seen a few. The injured is lucky, but there will probably be a short to long term followup...outcomes of noggin knockers are sort of unpredictable.
Though I have been on it a few times, Chute is the least fave for me.

Heard good news
While you can take this as what it is which is hearsay...I had a short conversation with a snow ranger at hojos today and asked him about the guy. He told me that the hospital called them and said the injured person was discharged from the hospital. No other details.
Hope he's ok going forward.

Was he a skier? I thought I saw a snow boarder fall head first through the rocks while I was up above. Saw the chopper a few minutes later. Glad he's OK either way.

Thanks but I have to admit, these pics were my bro's. Too lazy to carry my big lense, ha. He should have taken it out on the snowboarder stuck in the icefall for an hour. I would have liked to see his expression just hangin there. I assume he got down eventually. And safely...

Skier fell down chute, apparently three turns to double eject. unconscious when he came to the bowl. got flown out, but was released with a clean bill of health by that evening.
