Post Sunday River 11/22/03

A great day of skiing, though I pity anyone who paid $56 for that.

SR's snow is all from over a week ago; it's been too warm to blow, but fortunately they must have had great coverage for opening weekend. About 5 different ways to get down the mountain. One terrain park open with 5 features. 3 lifts. No lines.

Absolutely zero natural coverage now. Very surreal skiing on a foot of decent snow/ice while the forest lies buried in brown leaves all around. Decent grooming in the morning, but about 40% glare ice by 2pm after the sun goes back behind the ridge.

Pics to follow when I can.

Great you got out for some runs. I'm thinking we are in for another week or two of hiking down in the BC.

$56!? Wow!

This reminds me of our first visit to check out Sunday River in the spring 2 years ago. They were on their last days of skiing and the place was almost a ghost town, yet they wanted over $175 just to stay the night! It was about 6pm and we just wanted a place to park our heads. We ended staying at the Norseman Inn in Bethel for $40!
