TR - Snowbird 02/21/04-02/28/04

Spent a week at the bird. I will start by saying if you get a chance to go there..do it. Great place, steep terrain and lots of snow, what else could you ask for?

Skied six days there and got three powder days. On monday an unexpected 8-10 inches fell overnight. After a few runs down upper peruvian, we hit mineral basin which had been closed the previous few days. We were finding over a foot a fresh in the basin. On tuesay, we met up with my brother, my friend from Montana, a local and Kasha. Made some runs down baldy.

Here is a pic of my brother coming down baldy.

Here is another of my friend coming down baldy.

Wednesday was the only sunny day we got. After some runs down the peruvian cirque we hit mineral basin for some cliffs to take.

Here is myself coming down peruvian cirque.

My brother coming down peruvian cirque.

This is myself taking a cliff in mineral.

My friend taking a bigger cliff in mineral.

We were still finding freshies in mineral this day.

On Thursay and Friday we got pounded with snow. About two feet fell those two days. Have probably the best two days i have ever skied. Freshies on every run.

All in all in was a great trip and I will definitly be back again. One last pic on the twins.

niiiiice!!!! Whish I could've stayed another few days... My friends were at the Bird when you were... Did you happen to see a couple of skiers with a boarder on a raceboard with plates and hardboots?

Kind of a rarity out there....

Moose will become famouser soon enough
I was lucky enough to have a business trip take me to Salt Lake City last week. I skiied Snowbird the 28th and 29th - and I have to agree with all of the comments posted by everyone who was out there - TRULY AMAZING. It was the best snow conditions and most powder that I have ever skiied. I'll post some pics later. I'm definately going back next year.

Another recommendation: Squatter's Brew Pub on 300S St. Good food and great beer. The porter on nitro tap and cask conditioned mild were quite yummy

Great pics and sounds like great skiing. Mineral rocks.

Why no Kasha pics?

Hey NH SKI: Sweet trip. Major envy. Sneak me into your luggage next time you go.

Question:
How much bigger is this cliff:

Than this one?

I think the camera angle is a big factor. The first one looks like 30ft+ while the second looks like 10ft maybe. Seems like a cliff doesn't look as big from below.

Moose's business trip illustrates yet another reason why the Bird is the most complete skier's destination. It is convenient for any east coaster on business out west. It is Delta's western hub, and the ski area is 35 minutes from the airport.

Man I wish I did DMC, I just love the place. I have had so many transcendental days there. I will retire out there. Preferrably one of the mansions up past Alta.

But the real question here is how did NH Ski hook up with Kasha. She is unreal.

Do a search for "Kasha" on Telemarktips and you'll find one of the hottest screensavers ever made!
