That's in my backyard here.... AND it's a very touchy subject.
I'm against the expansion. I have a long list of reasons of not allowing the expansion and number 1 is that is Public Park land and it should not be given out for private gain. That's written in the state constitution. It would set a dangerous precident for the state gov't to let other private corps to take over public lands and alter them irrevocably. The original lease was to take over an existing entity(ski area) and improve on it. It was a tough decision but the outcome was worth it. The Meullers have yet to fulfill all their original lease agreements and I don't think they should be asking for more until they're fulfilled.
Also, there has been overwhelming local and regional support against the proposed expansion. The Muellers have attempted to downplay the public hearings and meetings with very little advance announcements to avoid the expected dissapproval by the locals that would be directly affected by this.
I have in the recent past years have been asked to leave the park for no other reason than that it was a ski resort thus implying it was 'private'! IT IS OUR PARK DAMMIT and I have a right to hike/ski anywhere there!
