Anyone been to Whiteface lately?

I'm thinking of taking the surfette to Iceface next month as I found a really good deal. Anyone been lately?

I was there over Turkeyday and will be up in the Daks for a week after xmas. I plan on going to whiteface once while up there(BC more fun). They have most of the mountain open...just waiting on the upper summit quad trails....should be open soon. I always have a blast there.

When are you going? I can let you know how it was when i get back in January if ya like......

Affix,

Thanks for the info, wondering if it's still as icy as it used to be as I haven't been in about 3 years. We're going Jan 9 - 12. Found a good deal through the Hilton in Lake Placid. Three nights accomodations, free breakfast and three days lift ticket for 2 people - $350.

Should leave plenty of money to hoist a few cold ones at Jimmy's.

Ill let ya know when i return.

Go to Lake Placid Brew Pub. Amazing beer and Great food...its right on mirror lake drive on the right. (Mirror Lake Drive-Street perpendicular to LP High School)

Then Go to The Great Adirondack Brewery on the Main Street Down past EMS heading west.

Those two, by far, have some of the best beer i have EVER had....hands down.

If you already knew about them, sorry.

Ski Magazine recently rated Whiteface about the WORST ski resort in the country for grooming and ice. Some racers from my home resort went up a week ago - it wasn't noticably different than they expected. Just be sure the Surfettes skis have nice sharp edges.

Thanks Mum. I'm bringing the surfettes skis in for a tune up tomorrow since it looks like we're going to have a couple more days of NCP, although hopefully not as bad as last Friday.

Surfy.

Whiteface's Conditions were good. However, they blew up their Pumphouse a couple weeks ago and couldnt make snow for a week, so the summit chair/trails arent open yet...maybe by the time you go. They are hopefully getting snow too.

Also, the Face chair was down for 3hrs when i was there, but they fixed it and shouldnt be a prob.

My biggest complaint is that they chrage so much ****ing money! $66! But who doesnt now!?
