Trip Report Vail Experience - Trees are our friends

Hey y'all, just a very quick TR preview from Vail. Dail up connex is so slooooooow, so no pics upload yet.

Manna from heaven:
7" past 48hrs on top of 20" in past 7 days, another 4" past 24hrs and it's still snowing. Expecting another 4 tonight and yet another 4-8 tomorrow. Guesstimate of additional 4-6" about each night for the rest of the week.

Feb 13th:
A bluebird day after arriving on the previous day in snowstorm. Got about 5" in the valley and 8-9" up top and out back. Some pockets in the trees over thigh deep. Tell about fun with the posse with pics later.

Feb 14th: - Valentines day for those so inclined.(no pun intended )
Met up with Bladegirl, Bladeguy and DJ at Vista Bahn.... I like newbies here... for they were about to experience the "Vail" I know. They wanted freshies... my powderhound senses kicked into overdrive and we lead them out into the wilderness of Bluesky Basin. Lot's of photo~ops... will reveal later. All our cheeks are hurting from grinning ear to ear all day.
More to come soon.

Tomorrow - destination Steamboat
It's currently handling a winter storm warning with expected snowfall 9-18" and still snow throught day for another 7-9".

KMRNSKIER will hopefully meet up with all of us for a Vail day on Wednseday so I can reveal more "local" beta she might share with you, should you happen to hang with her out here. But you have to be really nice to her to get the scoop.
Catch y'all later..... Until next login... powder is calling me!!!!!!!

That's the Skyline Express lift going up into Blue Sky Basin as it rides over Lover's Leap.

As you are riding up skyline express you can see some fun stashes lookers right from the chair, tree shots along the ridge with a few open cliff spots that are 5-20 footers. Super sick back there, and deep.

This is a shot from back there early in january:

Did someone say Steep N' Deep?

KMRNSKIER and BLADEGIRL showing the way.

PWDR8S in the deep stuff - Genghis Khan in the back bowls of Vail

T4T at Vail!!! KMRNSKIER, BLADEGIRL, and PWDR8S about to jump into an amazing powder play day.

The Wild Scotsman ripping up the powpow in Blue Sky Basin.

Echos of whoops, hollars, laughter, and giddy giggling resounded throughout the trees and the bowls for days. We end the day feeling exhausted, exhilerated, and ecstatic with perma grins plastered on our faces. Hot Tub therapy is required.

These are just a few pics for those who wish to peek into our adventure at a snow sliders playground. I'll post a fuller TR with more pics upon my return to 'civilisation' on Moanday or Tuesday. Until then..... THINK SNOW!
